Windows Aurora Update

Performance improvements to co-authoring to allow more concurrent co-authors.

Identity Management Tools: Scheduled for Q2 - Q3 2016

The Aurora Identity Management platform will be getting a refresh in Q1/A2 2016 with a range of new software versions. New features that will be user visible are:

  • Ability to reset password via their Defender token + PIN instead of the Questions and Answer profile. This will increase security to prevent social engineering attacks around Q&A profile data.

  • New Admin and User Self Service portal look and feel. New version is HTML5 compliant and will work better on 'modern browsers' and mobile phones.

New Office 365 Features

Office 365 Help Pane

The new Office 365 help pane feature will include several capabilities including What's new, help content and help search. The "What's new" new feature discovery component will provide users the ability to contextually discover and see how-to information about recently introduced capabilities. The Office 365 help pane will be available across apps in the Office 365 web experience.

Search Refiners in Outlook Web App (OWA)

PowerPoint Online: Ongoing improvements

PowerPoint Online continues to improve in the following way: better formatting, faster slide interaction, and the inclusion of more symbols. This makes the experience of using PowerPoint Online much more familiar and consistent for those employees who are used to using PowerPoint from their desktop application.

Word Online: Improving feature capabilities

As part of ongoing performance improvements and feature additions to Word Online, this month you’ll see the following: a) Image Resize handles: You can now resize images right in your document without having to use tools from the ribbon. Use the corner resize handles to maintain your picture’s aspect ratio. Use the mid-line resize handles to skew your picture. b) Plus there are improvements to list rendering, proofing, AutoSave UI and addition of more symbols. c) Performance improvements to co-authoring to allow more concurrent co-authors.
